Moske (Fulk), Mary Ellen
Of Jackson, MI, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024 after a two year battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 92. Mary Ellen was born to Robert P. and Nellie C. (Skinkle) Fulk on June 1, 1932 in Jackson, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 55 years, Edmund A. Moske in 2006; brothers, Paul Fulk of Veneta, OR and John Fulk of Jackson, MI; sisters, Julia Ann Miller (Fulk) of OH and Rose Fulk (at birth,1937); and brother-in-law, Robert Gutowski of Jackson, MI.
Mary Ellen is survived by her children: Deborah Haggard (Moske) of Garland, TX, Richard Moske of Grand Rapids, MI, Sandra Moske (Tracie) of Jackson, MI, David Moske (Sheila) of Jackson, MI and Timothy Moske (Lynnette) of Jackson, MI; grandchildren: Sarah Haggard (Joseph) of The Colony, TX, Eric Haggard of Garland, TX, Sydney (Moske) Kooyer (Colin) of Grand Rapids, MI, Jakob Moske of Grand Rapids, MI, David Moske II (Michelle) of Barboursville, WV, E. Alexander Moske (Shelley) of Somerset Center, MI, and Dustin Moske (Ashley) of Jackson, MI; her great-granddaughter, Adelynn Moske and expected (September) great-grandson both of Barboursville, WV; Sisters-in-law: Janette (Moske) Grimes (Burley) of Jackson, MI, Jean Fulk of Eugene, OR and brother-in-law: Ronald Moske (Kathleen) of Rainbow City, AL; her dear and close friends: Patty Cosgrove and Frank and Fran Galardi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also held a special place in her heart for her granddogs Trudy, Cooper, Jordy, Layla, Silas, and Maverick.
Mary Ellen graduated from Albion High School in 1950 where she was Drum Majorette and a member of the Band and Orchestra. She married Edmund A. Moske on June 23, 1951 who she met while working as a car-hop at the Dome ice-cream stand in the summer of 1949. Mary Ellen worked for Art Moehn Chevrolet where she performed general office work and operated the Switchboard. She retired in 1989 after 34 years of service. In 1951 Mary Ellen became a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and later its Holy Rosary Society. In 1990, she became a volunteer at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Jackson where she enjoyed working in the gift shop. Upon their retirement she and Ed enjoyed traveling, and many winters were spent in the sunny warmth of Arizona. She had special affection for 'Up North, Michigan' - particularly the Mackinac and Traverse City areas. Any images of hummingbirds, cardinals, or covered bridges brought her special joy. She also enjoyed gardening, golf, reading, camping, and baking her famous pumpkin and zucchini breads, cakes and cookies.
Mrs. Moske is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church with Father Robert Pienta officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, July 4 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.
The Moske family would like to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses, palliative healthcare workers, and hospice nurses who contributed in the care of our dear mother, especially Janet, Kelcy and Dana.
