Mills (Seffernick) Mary T.

Age 39, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Richard C. "Rick" Mills and mother of three children, Joseph X. Mills, Theresa A. Mills, and Brian W. B. Mills. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John (C. J.) and Elizabeth Seffernick and James and Phyllis Fountain and three siblings, Billy, Stephanie, and Christopher Seffernick. She is also survived by her parents, William T. Seffernick and Mary Theresa Seffernick, both of Jackson, and two brothers, Thomas Z. M. Seffernick, of Chicago, Illinois, and Nicholas D. Seffernick, of Hanover, Michigan, along with Nicholas' fiancee, Kaitlyn Murine. Mary was Rick's high school sweetheart and a selfless mother to their three young children. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Anthropology. Mary was a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Parish and a volunteer at St. John Elementary School.

Mary is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 12:30 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friend at funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.

The family is grateful for the bereavement support provided to the family by Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties and, instead of sending flowers, encourages donations to Catholic Charities in Mary's memory.
