McVicker (Mackie), Mary
Passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 94. She was born on June 27, 1926 in Jackson. She is survived by her two sons, H. Brewster McVicker III and David B. McVicker both of Harbor Springs, Michigan; two daughters, Jane M. Adamczyk and her husband Brian of Clarklake, Michigan and Katie M. Rasmussen and her husband Eric of Harbor Springs, Michigan; grandchildren, Ashley Zuzelski (Chris) and Eric Adamczyk (Jessie), Victoria Anne and (L.B.) H.B. McVicker IV, and Ryan and Lindsey McVicker; great-grandchildren, Allie, Luke, Parker, Helen and Lily; nephew, Arthur Finger (Kathy) of Chelsea; many cousins; and two grand- dogs. Preceded in death by her parents, Donald M. and Anne S. Mackie; her husband, Hugh B. McVicker Jr.; sister Katie Mackie Lenski Finger; and niece, Anne L. Fiser (Russ).
Mary was a graduate of St. Mary High School and Michigan State College. She was a member of Jackson Junior Welfare League, Jackson Symphony Guild Board, Copper Circle of Wharton Center, Life member of Alumni Association and Spartan Club of Michigan State University, Queen's Guild, Dahlem Center, Ella Sharp Museum, Navy League, County Club of Jackson, 100+ Women, MSU Alumni Board, Charter Member of World War II Memorial, and a Plankowner in the Navy Memorial in Washington, DC. Mary loved, participated, and had many awards in many sports including a Brown Belt in Tac Kmon Do and lettered in softball at Michigan State. She was formerly on the Boards of Junior League, Symphony Guild (1st time), Phi Delta Tau, and Jackson County 1990.
Mary and her parents were one of the original charter families of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church where due to Covid a private Mass of Christian Burial will take place.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michigan Theater of Jackson, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Jackson YMCA, or the charity of your choice.
