Johnson (Schoen), Mary Alice

Age 73, of Jackson, MI passed away at home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

Mary was born and grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School, and Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School. She graduated from the Borgess School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, MI in 1969. Following graduation she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Kent County Health Department. In 1971 she married Paul Johnson and moved to Jackson where she worked for a time at the Jackson County Health Department.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Thomas C. and Helen P. Schoen, her brother Timothy C. Schoen, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul F. and Alice M. Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Paul F. Johnson Jr, her two children Charles (Nadia) Johnson and Kathryn (Michael) Ross, her grandchildren Leo, Quinn, Ellis and Sophia, her brothers Jerimiah (Allison) Schoen, Thomas Schoen, Daniel Schoen and her sister-in-law Agnes Schoen, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 29, 2021 with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. The Mass will be live streamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church's Facebook Page. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
