Hixon, Mary C.

Of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the age of 77 years.  She is survived by her four children, Melissa Holt, Sue (Art) Clark, James W. Hixon Jr., and Kerry (Gary) King; grandchildren, Melinda (Andy), Miranda (Nick), Sadie (Jason), Alexis (Justin), Kathleen, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Bailey, and Tori; great-grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Amelia, Cameron, Sylvia, Josie, Colson, Willow, Everleigh, Lucas, and Xavier; siblings, Gerald (Avis) McEldowney, Dorothy Moore, JoAnn (Brad) Flack; and Janet (Rich Lawrence); sister in law, Colleen McEldowney; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Janet Hobbs.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James W. Hixon Sr. and her siblings, Carol McEldowney, Lois Surber, and Howard McEldowney Jr.

Mary graduated from Jackson High School Class of 1964.  She spent most of her career at Northeast School.  Mary enjoyed gardening and has a garden named for her at Northeast School.  She also enjoyed bowling, visiting the casino, travel, card playing, board games, but most importantly loved her family.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.
