Freundl (Dailey), Mary Teresa
On Monday, August 14, 2017 our loving mother, Mary Teresa (Dailey) Freundl, 87, of Jackson joined her son and husband in God's heavenly kingdom. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Carl) Shelton of Traverse City, Carol (Barry) Hintz of Lansing, Diane (Stephen) Wolcott of East Lansing, Patricia Freundl of Jackson, and daughter-in-law Patty (Edward) Freundl of Michigan Center; grandchildren Carrie (Erin Thoresen) Hintz, Valerie (Scott) Brooks, Blake (Delaney) Hintz, Paul (Kara) Wolcott, Patrick (Amanda) Wolcott, Ellie Wolcott, and Adrien Freundl; great grandchildren Declan and Connor Hintz and Porter and Sawyer Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her son Edward, and brothers and sisters-in-law Laurence "Bud" and Donna Dailey, Jerry and Marilyn Dailey, and her brother-in-law James Freundl. She is also survived by her siblings Ann Margaret "Peggy" (Harry) Bancroft, John "Jack" (Mary Jo) Dailey, and brother-in-law Ray (Dee) Freundl, sisters-in-law Margaret Dailey, Pat (Bob) Drouin, Margaret "Marge" (James) Freundl and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was born on August 27, 1929 to Geneva and Laurence Dailey in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She moved to Jackson as a young child and attended St. John's School where she met her husband of 61 years, Frank X. Freundl, Jr. As a young woman she worked at Aeroquip and later spent several years as the bookkeeper at Lumen Christi High School and Edwards Machine. She loved to be surrounded by family especially for holidays and summer days at the lake. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and cross stitch, playing piano and testing her knowledge while watching Jeopardy. She was proud of her Irish heritage and loved her trip to Ireland.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Clarklake on Friday, August 18 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Helfrich, O.S.F.S. officiating. Internment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery on Friday at 2:30 PM.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
Her family would like to thank the caring staffs of Trellis Gardens and Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their support and care the last weeks of her life. Memorial gifts may be made to Lumen Christi High School or St. Rita's Church in her name.
