of Jackson, MI, born on August 10, 1917 in Grosse Pointe, MI to Michael and Ellen (Costello) Sullivan, peacefully passed away on May 10, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years John Crosby (passed away Feb. 5, 2014) and by her parents and siblings James, Francis, John, and Thomas. She is survived by her sister Elaine, by her children Lawrence Crosby (Frances), Mary Frances Crosby, and Elaine Crosby, daughter-in-law Judy Crosby, grandchildren Ryan Crosby (Jennifer) and Valerie Crosby, and by two great-granddaughters Natalie and Katherine Crosby.

She was a graduate of Grosse Pointe High School and served as the Executive Assistant to the President of Houdaille Industries in Detroit, MI. On October 23, 1947 she married John Crosby in Grosse Pointe Park, MI. In 1962 they moved to Jackson when John accepted a position with Hayes Industries. Mary enjoyed time with family and friends; was a member of Jackson Country Club and played golf frequently with her husband, good friends and daughter Elaine; was an avid bowler; enjoyed bridge; and was an active member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. She was well known for her warmth, smile, humor, sense of fashion, and gift of conversation.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, May 12 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM.

Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 13 at 11:00 AM. Father Timothy MacDonald will be the celebrant of the mass. The family will also receive friends at the church, prior to the mass, from 10-11 AM.

The family would like to thank Highland Alzheimer's Care for the kind and compassionate care she received in the final months preceding her death. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish and to the Cascades Humane Society.
