Mandreger, Martha Grace
passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010. She was born on September 12, 1913 in Jackson, the daughter of James & Mary Reid of Ayr, Scotland. On October 9, 1937 she married the love of her life, Steven A. Mandreger. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1982. Besides Steven, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Isabell Reid, Jane (Jake) Jacoby, and Mary (Russell) Hughes; brothers, James Reid, Wardnear (Edith) Reid, Edward Reid and Daniel (Mary Jane) Reid; two beloved grand-dogs, Buffy and Katie. Martha is survived by her only son, Daniel Steven (Elaine) Mandreger; three special grand-dogs, Carly, Uma and Aimee; sister-in-law, Stella (Eugene) Lindahl; numerous nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews and many dear life long friends. Before Dan was born, Martha was a candy dipper for Gilbert's Chocolate for over 25 years. With her precision skills, she was pictured demonstrating her art in a national magazine article on Gilbert's Chocolate. During World War II, Martha worked at Mechanical Products manufacturing tank tracks. She was a life long member of St. John Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:30–11:00 AM. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Reverend Robert Pienta will be the celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either Allegiance Hospice or St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
