Tingley (Hutton), Marjorie Ann
Was born September 2, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. She went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2025, as she joined with her parents, Walter and Rhoda (Barry) Hutton; loving husband, Eugene Tingley; baby brother, Wayne and infant sister Carly Jo. She is survived by her five sons: Mark Tingley, Stephen Tingley, Craig (Diane) Tingley, Michael (Katrina) Tingley, David (Yohana) Tingley; 10 grandchildren: Craig Tingley II, Amanda (Andrew) Morrow, Triston (Kate) Tingley, Danielle (Lindsey) Tingley, Jessica (Joshua) VanderWerf, Raquel Tingley, Alyssa Tingley, Ryan Tingley, Kevin (Kenzie) Tingley, and Austin Tingley, as well as, 15 great grandchildren; uncle, Paul (Kay) Davis; brother, Denny Hutton; sister, Debbie (Steve) Shotwell; several nieces and nephews and a multitude of life long close friends.
Marjorie was the coordinator for Title One at the Jackson Public Schools during the 1970s and 80s. Title One was an organization that helped parents with children with learning disabilities and difficulties progressing with their education, especially reading. She took many trips with the program, one of which was to Mexico to visit an Aztec temple where she climbed to the top. Later in the 80s she was a financial planner for IDS/American Express/Ameriprise. All during this time Marjorie was also taking care of the books for Tingley Brothers Paint, the painting business and store. She loved to travel with Gene. They went to Honolulu, Oahu, and Maui, Hawaii and Acapulco, Mexico. She also went to England, Ireland, and Scotland. She made a couple trips to Las Vegas, and several to California. Marjorie will be greatly missed for many years to come. Rest easy Mom.
The family wishes to extend an extra special thank you to the Highland Assisted Living and Memory Care, 1948 Cooper St. Jackson, MI 49202, and it's wonderful staff for all of their love and care. Also our heartfelt thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for the invaluable comfort they provided to Marjorie and all the family as well.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Jackson with Father Chas Canoy officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday at 2:30 PM at Horton Cemetery, 6251 Tripp Road (off of Moscow Road), Horton, Michigan 49286.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Thursday, January 30 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to Highland Assisted Living and Memory Care would be appreciated.
