Age 74, passed away on August 4, 2020 in Orlando, Florida. She fought a spirited battle with courage and grace since 2008 with cancer and heart disease. She was married for 52 years to her husband Jerry who survives her. They had three children, Matthew (wife Lainie and six grandchildren) of South Lyon, Michigan; Jeff (wife Nicole and four grandchildren) of Orlando, Fl.; and Timothy who preceded her in passing in 1999. She is also survived by two brothers, Samuel Lewis Jr. (wife Ann) of Erie, Pennsylvania and Daniel of Tarpoon Springs, Florida; a special brother-in-law, Harry Fryer Jr. who she gave special care for many years.; and many nieces and nephews. Her sister, Eloise; father, Samuel C.; and mother Helen M.(Cachivas) preceded her in passing.

Marilynn was born in Erie, PA and was a proud native of the community. She graduated from McDowell High School in Erie, PA in 1964 and from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio in 1968 with a bachelors degree to teach English and Library Science. She also completed advanced education and certification at Spring Arbor University, Spring Arbor, MI.

Marilynn was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Her beautiful smile, inquisitive nature, and sense of humor would light up her every conversation. She loved people, nature, and dolphins. She was a teacher for 20 plus years in Davenport, Iowa, and Jackson, Michigan public schools. She retired from teaching in 2006. She was an active member of Queens Miraculous Medal Church in Jackson, Michigan since 1974 and a member of the Women's Circle. She also assisted in supporting and participating in the opening of a new Catholic Church in Lake Nona, Florida, Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini in 2019, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was an organ donor. She has been cremated, and internment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, Michigan will be at a later date.
