Anderson (Slaby), Marilyn Sue
Age 58 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at her home in Bartlesville.
Marilyn Sue Slaby was born on July 30, 1957 in Jackson, Michigan. She was the daughter of Chester Slaby and Betty (Karazim) Slaby. She grew up in the Jackson area where she attended school, graduating with the Lumen Christi Catholic High School Class of 1975.
Marilyn and James Alan Anderson were united in marriage. They moved from Jackson, Michigan to Bartlesville and have lived in the Bartlesville area for approximately 33 years. Marilyn was a homemaker, a devoted wife and wonderful mother to their two daughters.
Marilyn attended Grace Community Church in Bartlesville. She enjoyed many things and was active in the community. She was a board member of the Bartlesville Community Concert Association and a member of the Antiques and Collectibles Association. She maintained sales booths for collectibles at Linger Longer in Dewey, Oklahoma and Antique Depot in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She was also secretary of the Hillcrest Women's Golf Association. She was an active golfer and loved to travel. She went to Branson regularly and took several golf trips annually. However, the thing she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family as a wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, James, of the family home; two daughters, Bailey Suzanne Anderson of Edmond, Oklahoma and Adriann Nicole Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; her father, Chester Slaby of Jackson, Michigan; three sisters, Judy Booth, also of Jackson, Sharon Wojtusik and her husband, Jake, of Jackson and Shirley Bordner and her husband, Mark, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and two brothers, Frank Slaby and his fiance, Karen, of Jackson, and John Slaby and his wife, Karen, of Grand Rapids. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Betty.
Funeral services were held in Bartlesville. Local services will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Father Robert Pienta officiating.
Private burial will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
