White, Marguerite "Margie"
Of Jackson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family and the loving care of Vista Grand Villa staff and Southern Care Hospice on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Margie was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on March 3, 1922. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, James Edward White, and her mother and father, Theresa and Lumon Harris of Benton Harbor, and her sister Cathleen Schweitzer and brother Carl Harris. Margie is survived by her sister, Marion Tyner, and by her nine children: Maryann (Don) Coon of Grand Rapids, MI; Jim (Diane) White of Ventura, CA; Janie (Carl) Hudechek Jr. of Jackson; Barbara (Jim) Miller of Grand Rapids; Tom (Eileen) White of Allentown, PA; Joe (Marcia) White of Jackson; John (Denise) White of Oxnard, CA; Theresa (Alan) Kalis of Jackson; Chris (Dr. Jodi Kornak) White of New Berlin, WI; 25 Grandchildren, 4 great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margie was a beautiful and deeply spiritual woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and thoroughly lived life to its fullest. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, and will remain forever in the hearts and souls of each and every one. Margie was a long-standing parishioner of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Jackson, involved in both the Marion Circle and Amaranth Club. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with her WWII-decorated husband. Family was the most important part of her life and her support and encouragement will be greatly missed. Margie also treasured many special friends.
Marguerite is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with the Holy Rosary being said at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Christian burial will be at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Reverend Mathias Thelen will be the celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lumen Christi High School and/or the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
