Age 95, of Jackson Michigan passed away on December 06, 2023. She was born June 27,1928 in Jackson to Leroy Andrew Welch and Agnes Margaret (Curran) Welch, who preceded her in death. Margaret (Margie) graduated from Jackson High School class of 1946.
Margie met her future husband, Earl, following his return from WWII, Pacific Theater, at a local dance. Earl and Margie were married June 24, 1950 and were married for 71 years until Earl's death at age 100 on Dec 24, 2021.
Margie and Earl enjoyed a beautiful and devoted life together with many shared loves - first of all their family of 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They also enjoyed golfing, Square Dancing and spending time with close friends all of their lives. They also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and in their retirement years wintering in Florida. Margie was always an excellent cook, seamstress and homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Andrew) Zeigler, Phillip (Mary Cosepalmer) Palmer, Edward (Stephanie) Palmer, and Mary (Keith) Bollheimer; grandchildren, Christine (Kelly Kendall) Palmer, Jeremy Zeigler, Mark Palmer, Nathan (Val) Zeigler, Julia (Brad) Zenz, Zachary (Jana) Zeigler, Alyse Bollheimer, and Haley Bollheimer; and great grandchildren, Mariah, Evelyn, Margaux, and Cedar.
The family would like to acknowledge the six years of exceptional private care provided in her home and would also like to thank the staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice and Summit Park Assisted Living for the love and care they provided to Margaret.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Reverend Dr. Amalorpavanathan Rayapillai, SdC officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Tuesday. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church's Facebook Page.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, December 11 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
Contributions to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice would be appreciated.
