Margaret Julia Culhane (Graham)

CULHANE (GRAHAM), MARGARET JULIA

age 78, a lifelong resident of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on July 20, 2017 from Alzheimer's disease. Margie graduated from St. Mary's high school and attended JCC and Marygrove College. She was a talented painter who was a prize-winning member of the Jackson Civic Art Association, and her work was often seen in local art shows. She encouraged her children's creative pursuits and instilled in her family a lifelong love of art, books, and music.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, attorney and former City Commissioner James P. Graham, Jr. and Margaret Calbert Graham, and by her only brother James P. Graham III.

She is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart of 58 years, Gerald Clair Culhane, former Vice President of Foote Memorial Hospital; her children Gerald (Julia) Culhane, Jr., Margaret (Mark Adelson) Culhane, James (Soh Leng) Culhane, and Julie (Paul) Wakefield; grandchildren Rick, Tristan, Amelia, Maya, and Madeline; and great-grandchildren R.J., Jack, and Joey.

The family will receive visitors at Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, July 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Friday, July 28 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Peter Lawrence officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
