Marcia Jean Polewka

Marcia J. Polewka passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, after a year long battle with cancer. Marcia was the daughter of Walter J. and Sophie M. Polewka, who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of Jackson, Marcia was born at Mercy Hospital on July 20, 1953. She graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1971. Furthering her education, Marcia attended Jackson Community College earning an Associates Degree in Office Education. During her stay in the work force Marcia was employed by the Michigan Employment Security Commission on Jackson Street, the Jackson Citizen Patriot, and Sears and Roebuck, retiring in 2018. Marcia will be sadly missed by her surviving brother Fred (Ann) Polewka.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 707 N Waterloo St, Jackson with Father James Shaver as the Celebrant. A private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, before the Mass, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Church.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital and especially the staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home of Jackson for the compassionate care given to Marcia. The family requests, that if desired, memorial contributions be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home of Jackson to assist in the continuance of their work or to the American Cancer Society.
