Kessler, Lyta Marie

Raised in Jackson, Michigan, Lyta Marie Kessler, age 63, of Mountain View, California passed away April 4, 2020. Lyta was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1956 and was the eldest daughter of Mary Ann (Donley) and William E. Kessler. Lyta grew up with her six younger sisters in Jackson, Michigan. Lyta's life partner was Francis Paul (FP) Miller whom she met in high school and was also from Jackson, Michigan.

Lyta graduated from Parkside High School (class of 1974) in Jackson and completed her bachelor's degree from Albion College. She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and worked for a skilled nursing facility. She loved working with the elderly. She continued her education and received a Master's Degree in Geriatric Social Work from Arizona University. She moved to Mountain View, California and reunited with her "Mister", FP Miller, who became her cherished companion for the remainder of her life. The two shared many passions together including restoring classic cars with exactitude. Lyta enjoyed tooling around Mountain View in her 1965 baby blue Ford Falcon. She had recently finished renovations on a 1965 Buick Skylark convertible. The cars were a source of great pride to both Lyta and FP.

While in Mountain View, Lyta worked at El Camino Hospital as a social worker until her retirement in 2019. Highly regarded by both nurses and doctors, Lyta was known for her dedication to her patients and their families. Lyta was driven to defend he most vulnerable populations, those that could not care for or help themselves. She could be counted on to take the toughest cases because of her great determination, patience, and reliability combined with her kind heart. It is for these reasons that those that knew her well in California love her as family.
The loss of our sister seems insurmountable, but we find comfort knowing Lyta is reunited with her heavenly Father, her "Mister", FP Miller and her parents. Lyta will always be missed and loved by everyone she touched.

Lyta was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann (Donley), William Ertman Kessler as well as her life partner, Francis Paul Miller. She is survived by her six sisters; Carol (David Bentley), Frances, Kathleen (Huneycutt), Sarah (Allen Roden), Paula (Joseph DiPaolo), and Patricia (Eric Poppe).
