Blaney (Powers), Luella "Lu"
of Cranberry Lake, passed away at home. under the loving care of her family, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her husband, Jim; seven children, Shelly (Lee) Wilbur, Susan (Paul) Hale, Cathy Hyden (David DeWolfe), Barb Riske, Karyn (Doug) Berry, Joe (Anna) Blaney, Joan Brink; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her loving dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Powers.
Lu was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She enjoyed her close friendships at Cranberry Lake and also enjoyed golf and bowling.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 27 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Father Tim Nelson will be the celebrant at the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
