Lopez, Lucita Felicitas (Elizabeth)
of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the age of 97 years. She was born on February 21,1922 in San Antonio, Texas. She came to Jackson, Michigan with her parents, Cresencio Jacobo and Concepion (Rocha) Jacobo. During WWll Elizabeth worked as a Nurse Aide for Foote Hospital and was training to be a LP Nurse. She worked for Gilbert Chocolate, Kellogg Industry, and later for Region ll. Elizabeth also worked
at the Jackson Public School Bilungual Program and for the City of Jackson Green Thumb Program. She attended Jackson Community College.
Elizabeth is one of nine children. Surviving children are her three sons, Michael Jr., Andrew, Antonio Lopez; two daughters, Hilda Lopez and Mary Mathews; grandchildren Madia (Cornel Taylor), Christopher, and Kirk Mathews, and Isabella Procassini; great grandchildren, Cornel, Cristano, Cario, and Vayah Taylor; brother, John Jacobo; and sister, Connie Bowser.
Preceded in death by her husband, Micheal F. Lopez; sisters Louisa and Florentina; brothers Diego, Cresencio, Manuel, and Franciso Jacobo; granddaughters, Roxanne Russ and Ava Procassini; and great grandson, Carlo Taylor.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, August 12 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. Mary's Church would be appreciated.
