Eriksen, Lillian M. 93 ,
died on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Trellis Garden's, Vista Grand Villa Assisted Living Center in Jackson, Michigan. From her birth on November 3, 1924 in Akron Ohio, Lillian (Lilly), encouraged and motivated the people around her with loving concern and sincere kindness. Lilly was the oldest of two children. Her parents, Otello and Renee Capanna emmigrated from Italy and France shortly before her birth.
Although a native born American, Lilly only knew French when she went to her first day of school. She was a quick learner and very intelligent. She graduated from Ohio State University among the top of her class. She married Robert Eriksen, after his return from World War II. Lilly and Robert moved to Jackson, MI where they built houses together in the Essex Heights neighborhood. Lilly devoted herself to raising a large family of six with a good set of values, modest simplicity, love of family, gratitude and generosity. Lilly dedicated her life to her children through perseverance, hard work and personal sacrifice. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Paul, son Guy, and granddaughter Ashley Renee . Lilly is survived by her brother Robert Louis Capanna; children Roger, Valentino, Jimmy, Kathleen and Renee; and grandchildren, Tony, Jennifer, Chelsea, Eric, Andrew, Jimmy John, Jasmine, Nicole and Robert.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wed Sept 5th at Desnoyer Funeral home. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6th at 9:30 AM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tim Nelson officiating. Interment at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
