Cogan, Leota B.

Passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the age of 83 at the Arbor Manor Nursing Home where she resided for the last 6 and a half years. Leota was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert (Bob) Cogan. Leota is survived by her daughter, Cindy Loik and husband Paul; her son, Bradley Dale Cogan and wife Debbie; 3 granddaughters, Sarah, Amy, and Jaclyn Loik; 3 sisters, LaVerna Bryant, Loretta Lammers, and Lila Mosher; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leota retired in 1995 from the Western School District where she worked for 22 years. Bob and Leota made Parma, Michigan their home for over 25 years. Leota helped establish the Parma Sandstone Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary in 1970 and was voted as their first President. Later Bob and Leota moved to Hanover, Michigan where she enjoyed taking walks in the woods and flower gardening. After their retirement Bob and Leota enjoyed many activities together including bowling and golf. Leota always put family first and she never hesitated to help with her granddaughters. Bob and Leota attended many school and 4-H activities throughout the years.

We will be celebrating her life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home in Jackson. Fr. Robert Pienta officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
