Leonard John Piskorski
"Grandpa Elvis"
Leonard John Piskorski, 75, went home to be with his beloved wife, Saturday, September 21, 2019 while in the presence of family. Leonard was born in Detroit, Michigan, on the 5th of April 1944. Youngest sibling of six. Leonard completed Parorhial Schools, Archdiocese of Detroit, with two years of college. Leonard served in the United States Army 1964 - 1967, as a medic with great honor. Leonard married Loretta (Chupa) Piskorski, 28th of June 1974. They raised two children.
Leonard is survived by daughter, Anna Ashley (Wojciechowski) and son, Antoni Wojciechowski, Four grandchildren (Jessica, Shannon, Seirra, and Tony), and 7 great grandchildren (Avery, Corbin, Alex, August, Sophia, Delilah, and Emadelle), many nieces and nephews, and grandchildren "Grandpa Elvis" adopted along the way.
Leonard was a collector of all things. Mainly, his love for Elvis. Leonard was an Elvis impersonator, and spent many vacations amongst other Elvis fans. He enjoyed fishing, cycling, traveling, botany, church life, and family time. Leonard dedicated his life to the Lord and family. He was a member of the Parish at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and member of the choir. Leonard was a Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. Leonard touched the lives of many people. He accepted everyone as family. He will be greatly missed by all.
Leonard is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Chas Canoy officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan at 2:00 PM.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26 from 4 to 7 PM with a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Chalice Service at 6:45 PM followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
