NOWAK, LEON J. "LEE"
Of Jackson passed away at home unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 age 83 years. Survived by his wife of 62 years Irene. Five children; Bruce (Sharon), Brian (Lisa), Brent (Robin), Blair (Kristen) and Barry (Lisa) Nowak, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Bernard and his brother Edmund.
Lee was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Rose City Post. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #609, an avid hunter and sailor and was the Past Commodore of the Clark Lake Yacht Club, and the P.L.A.V. Lee was the former owner of Condex Heat Transfer Corporation.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Queen's Parish or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and at the Church on Tuesday from 10 to 10:30 AM. A Rosary service will be held at 7 PM and a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Service on Monday, both at the funeral home.
