Fitzpatrick, Leo J.
Age 80 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 28th, 2020 at 3:15 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn; children, Leo (Katy), Dawn Alger (Dan), Todd (Laurie); grandchildren, Austin, Erica, Cody, Emilie, and Mason Fitzpatrick, Caleb, Kyle (Veronica), and Cameron Alger; great grandson, Jackson Leo Fitzpatrick; siblings, Margie Edwards (Mike), Mike Fitzpatrick (Sandy), Kayleen Purucker (Norm), Jerry Fitzpatrick (Suzi), Theresa Georgopoulos (Jim), Karen Rothenberger (Dan), Bob Fitzpatrick (Sue), and Denny Fitzpatrick (Vickie); and in-laws, Tom Maddalena and Nancy Fitzpatrick; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Donna Fitzpatrick; brothers, Jack and Chris Fitzpatrick; and sister, Rene Maddalena.
Leo was a proud veteran of the US Navy who served our country from 1960 to 1964. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren, and going to his "office" at the American Legion Post 29. Leo was a lifelong active member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea. He was a life member of the Elks, Moose Club, and Travel Trailer Clubs of the Midwest.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Richard Eberle, O.S.F.S. officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral mass.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, September 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Mary Church Window Restoration Fund or the Jackson County American Ritual Team would be appreciated.
