Passed away under the loving care of his family on Tuesday September 13, 2022, at age 94. He is survived by his wife Glenda Cummings of Cullman, AL, children Janet Gibbons, Susan (David) Crowley, grandchildren Angela (Jeff) Todd, Bethany Crowley, Michael (Lauren) Todaro, Anthony (Samantha) Todaro, great granddaughters Katelyn (Houston) Woodruff, Rosalia and Luciana Todaro. Also survived by brother Bernard Cummings, Sr. Kathleen Cummings, O.L.V., brother-in-law John Adkin, sister-in-law Sophia Cummings, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Leo was proceeded in death by parents Rose and Matthew Cummings, first wife of 43 years Kathleen, daughter Julie Eicher, grandson Stevie Todaro, and son-in-law Alan Gibbons. Siblings Rose Mary Kite (Vernon), Rita Frybarger (Robert), Frank, Rev Fr. Paul, Richard (Mary Anne, Jeaninne), James (Catherine), Teresa Hansel (William Davis, Ralph), Matthew (Janet). Leo grew up on Leroy Street with 11 siblings and attended St. John's Catholic School. After graduation, he enlisted in the army during WW II, he served in the 11th airborne division. He also was a member of American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Legion of and Mary. He was a retired Master Plumber, he was also involved in many veteran, civic, and church projects over the years.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 12:00 pm, 711 Martin Luther King Dr. Jackson, MI 49201 (his 95th birthday) with Father Chas Canoy and Deacon Dave Etters officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the Mass from 11:30 am until the time of the Mass.
