Finch, LaVern P. "Vern"
Of Jackson passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 age 90 years.
Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, June. Survived by five children; Brian (Janet) Finch, Larry Finch, Gloria Galbreath, Craig (Sonya) Finch and Roy (Jill) Finch. 13 grandchildren; Todd, Amy, Cary, and Meghan Finch, Shannon O'Shea, Kristin Ganton, Michelle Vaal, Field, Cole, Ali, Kyle, Kelsey and Tyler Finch. 14 great-grandchildren. Sisters-in-law; Gloria Sarsfield, Sara and Chris Finch. Preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Charles Finch. Vern was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the V.F.W., the AMVETS , the Grotto Club and was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge. He retired from Western Electric after 42 years of service.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Mathias Thelen officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and at Queen's Church on Thursday from 10 to 10:30 AM.
Contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Queen's School would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Grand for the wonderful care they provided to Vern.
