Fransted, Keith Douglas
Keith passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 83. Keith was the son of Earl and Gladys (Mellencamp) Fransted born June 14, 1940, in Napoleon Township, Jackson, Michigan. He was Keith is survived by four children, Vickie (Joseph) Fransted-Wright, Teresa (Kirk) Stage, Jim (Karen) Fransted, and Tamara (Ken) LeMieux; 9 Grandchildren, Joshua (Rachelee) Fransted, Kaleigh Barnes, Ella Stage, Kirk Stage, Jordan Wright, Ian (Kelsey) Barnes, Makenzie (Luke) Scharich, Josh (Jaidah) Fransted, Christian (Kaitlin) Fransted, Nolan Fairfield, and Brekken Fairfield; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jaelah, Hudsyn, Julian, Tate, Mason, Josephine, and Ava.
As a youth he worked on his family farm and was known for his athletic abilities where he was awarded All-State accolades in multiple sports. His athletic reputation continued later in life as he hit a hole in one at Arbor Hills Country Club and shot a 300 game in his bowling league, both in the same year. Early in his career he worked for Bailey Excavating and Dunigan Brothers where he was given the nickname "Fingers" Fransted for his ability to operate heavy equipment with precision and ease. Keith owned and operated Keith Fransted Construction out of Concord, Michigan. He also owned and operated Kabe Auto Sales out of Jackson, Michigan. He enjoyed spending time at his house on Gilletts Lake with his family and loving neighbors. He also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling, traveling, attending his grandchildren's athletic events, and collecting classic cars. Keith loved his pets, both cats and dogs, and he always enjoyed decorating his property and house with flowers.
A special thanks to Kirk and Marty Mercer for their care, compassion and friendship shown to Keith over the years.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Cascades Manor House on Sunday, January 21 at 2:00 pm.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions in Keith's name may be made to the Cascades Humane Society.
