Kay Schied

Kay Schied, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 with her family at her side. She was 82 years old.  Kay is survived by her son, Scott (CaTrena) Schied; grandchildren, Richie (Erica) Schied, Andy (Sayde) Schied; great-grandchildren, Gavin Schied, Soraya Schied, Lila Schied; sister, Mary Ann Coutu; brothers, Russ (Mary Ellen) Laberteaux, David Laberteaux; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schied,Sr.; parents, George and Beatrice Laberteaux; and sister, Margaret Laberteaux.

Family was very important to Kay. She lit up whenever she was in a room with those she loved. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they reached their milestones in life.  Kay was also very close to her sister and enjoyed going out to lunch with her multiple times a week, resulting in her making many good friends along the way. Kay had a strong Christian faith and was looking forward to joining the family who had passed before her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to a charity of your choice in Kay's name.
