KORNAK, KATHLEEN MARY
Of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Kathleen was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Ronald W. Kornak M.D. Kathleen is survived by her nine children and 25 grandchildren: Jodi Kornak (Chris White) and their children Payden, Hayley, and Carter; Traci Kornak (Rich Kotarba) and their children Delayni, Callahan, Keeli, and Makinni; Keli (Tom) Dzierwa and their children Taylor, Karsan, Spencer, and Ross; R. Scott (Jill) Kornak and their children Max, Alex, Jack, and Sam; Shelli (Jim) Anuszkiewicz and their children Jacob, Madison, and Logan; Bari (Kevin) Kane and their children Kyle, Braxton, and Kavanaugh; Molli Kornak and her children Breyana and Chanel; Andi Kornak (Matt Loeffler); and Jaymi (Brian) Wilson and their children Veronica and Korinne. She is also survived by two brothers, Christopher (Delores) Stankus and Anthony (Sharon) Stankus, one sister Josephine (Herbert) Klunk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Without a doubt, Kathleen's greatest legacy was raising her nine children who now strive to continue imparting lessons in character, integrity, and spirituality to Kathleen's grandchildren. Kathleen's love for animals was demonstrated through her training and trialing of her dogs: Mikey, Roscoe, Turf, Jigg, Grin, Kwik, Gyp, and Zip. Kathleen was also proud of her heritage as a second generation Irish American Catholic.
According to her wishes, Kathleen has been cremated. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Internment will be at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Chicago, along with her husband and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cascades Humane Society or the University of Michigan Rheumatoid Arthritis Research Fund at https://leadersandbest.umich.edu/find/#!/give/basket/fund/308340 would be appreciated.
