Kathleen Frybarger, a lifelong psychiatric nurse known for her compassion, dedication, and gregarious spirit, died peacefully at home on April 29th, 2025. She was 67.
Born and raised in Conshohocken, PA, Kathleen discovered early that she wanted to enter the Psychiatric field, initially majoring in Biology and Psychology. She then entered and graduated from Nursing School with Honors. Over a four-decade career in psychiatric nursing, she worked in administrative, inpatient and community settings, where her empathy and devotion to those she worked with made her a trusted ally to patients and colleagues alike.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Mick Frybarger; her son, Matthew; eight stepchildren, Ryan, Miriah, John, Heather, Chris, Lisa, Rita, and Shannon; and many, many grandchildren who will miss Grandma Kat's holiday cards and bottomless love. She also leaves three siblings—Mary-Kay, Rick, and John—who will miss her dearly.
Away from work she was a Master Gardener, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, amateur Chef, and may have single-handedly kept a few cooking magazines in print through her patronage.
