Juckett, Katherine (Savoy)
Went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 4, 2019. She was born on November 5, 1929 in Jackson, Michigan to her father Charles Savoy and Mother Toula (Lolas) Savoy. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ted Savoy; sister, Effie Marinakis; husband, Robert Juckett; grandson, Cullen Kujawa; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her daughters, Dena (Ken) Hayner and Paula (Art) Bamm; son, John Gunn; grandchildren, Aaron Hayner, Angela Hayner, Alicia (Chad) Hobart, Janelle (Dean) Hoopes, Brandy (Dave) Sawyer, Johnny (Megan) Gunn, Heather (Vido) Barina, Matt (Dustin) Bamm, and Krissy (Andy) Abbott; great grandchildren, Harper, Kaedence, Alyssa, Adam, and Katie; great-great granddaughter, Paige; and many dear cousins and friends.
Kay graduated from Jackson High School and went to J.C.C. for 2 years. She was one of the founding members of St. Demetrius Orthodox Church, sang in the church choir for many years, and was a youth group leader. She was a loving mother, yaya, great-yaya, and great-great yaya. Kay passed down to her children her love of family, friends, music, and her work ethic. She loved going to Greek dances, picnics, the Jackson and Hillsdale County Fair to look at the exhibits and to eat corn dogs and french fries; but most of all she loved spending time with her family, relatives, and friends.
Thank you mom for being a wonderful mother and yaya. Our love for you will forever be in our hearts. We would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Henry Ford Allegiance Health Hospital 4th floor I.C.U. and Henry Ford Allegiance Health Speciality Hospital 1st floor I.C.U. for the excellent care they gave to our mom and yaya. Also a special thank you to Father Mark Sietsma.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12:00 Noon with Dr. Phil Stout and Reader Ted Demos officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
Instead of sending flowers, the family suggests that you consider a memorial donation in Katherine's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio. 45250-0301.
