Lockwood (Davis, Minder), Karlyn J.
Born August 25, 1935 to Jack and Lily Davis, Karlyn passed peacefully into eternal life just on Monday, August 18, 2025, one week shy of her 90th birthday.
She was a devoted wife to her husband, Jack Minder and together they shared four children and wonderful memories until his passing in 1989.
Later she met and married Thomas Lockwood and together they spent numerous years, enjoying traveling, gardening, art and theater until his passing in 2022.
In addition to her abundant love for her extensive family, Karlyn loved her Catholic faith. As an avid member of St. Mary Star of the Sea, she volunteered for many activities. As the matriarch of her family, Karlyn's example of faith and selfless love leaves a lasting impression on all who knew her. Over the years she loved playing the piano, gardening, needlework and cooking. Every family gathering was warm and picture-perfect, overflowing with love and endless homemade dishes. She had a way of making every holiday special!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lily Davis; brothers, Jack R. Davis and Alfred LaGosh; and spouses, Jack Minder and Thomas Lockwood.
Karlyn leaves behind four generations of treasured loved ones. She will be truly missed by her four children, Deborah (Jack) King, Mark (Tammy) Minder, Diana (John) Gorney and Lisa (Rudy) Ojeda; grandchildren, Jason (Cristine) King, Karlyn (Michael) Melnick, Jeffrey (Kristen) King, Karrie (Chad) Beilfuss, Amber (Brent) Bushinski, Kasi (Ian Tamblyn) Minder, Lisa Gorton, Kyle Minder, Hanna Minder, Emily (Daniel) Sullivan, Alison Berry, Joshua (Megan) Gorney, Matthew (Brittany) Ojeda, and Alicia (Dr. Robert) Muterspaugh; 41 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, along with countless nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Tim Nelson officiating. A private interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery on Monday, August 25.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, August 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School would be appreciated.
