of Jackson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the age of 96. She died at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility in the presence of her loving family.

Karline is survived by her three children, two sons, William Gennety and David (Judy) Gennety of Jackson and one daughter, Carol (Robert) Undeen of Quincy, MI. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas "Clem" Gennety, one son, Donald Gennety, one grandson, Jimmy Gennety, her parents, George and Bertha Schlenker, one brother, Robert and one sister, Ruth Clark.

Karline was born on June 27, 1918, a daughter of George and Bertha Schlenker. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1936. Karline and her brother, Robert ran Schlenker's restaurant until it was sold in 1979. On October 4, 1937 she married Thomas "Clem" Gennety. She converted to Catholicism in 1952. From then she was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Parish. Karline was a devout Catholic. She drew spiritual inspiration from her faith and passed it on to her family. Mother was a very active member of the Church. She spent her entire life helping out and giving service to others. She sang in the choir at St. John's for many years. Karline had the good fortune of favorable health allowing her to travel extensively around the world. She loved gatherings that brought the family together and enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and mature. She loved to go fishing, was an avid "bird watcher" and enjoyed watching sporting events, especially the Detroit Tigers and Pistons and was a true "Go Blue" Michigan fan.

Karline is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, August 4 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Father Robert Pienta officiating. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday, August 3 from 2–4 and 6–8 PM with a Vigil Service at 3:30 PM.

Contributions to St. John's Catholic Church will be most welcomed by the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility for their loving care and support of our mother. She truly enjoyed her stay with you.
