Kalis, Justine "Tina"

Age 73, of Jackson, passed away at Vista Health Center on Saturday, December 24, 2011. She is survived by three sons, Alan (Theresa) Kalis, Eric (Beth) Kalis, Neil Kalis; daughter, Leah (Aleksandar) Denda; sister, Marlene (Dennis) Desmarais; eight grandchildren, Selena, Hannah, Vivien, Konstantine, Shane, Maxine, Devin, and Liam; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kalis, and her parents, Walter and Regina Dudzinski.

She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School of Wyandotte, co-owned the Roadhouse for more than 30 years and was the founder of the Golumbki Cook-off. She was an outstanding cook, avid euchre player, and a volunteer at Allegiance Health. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and her laughter will be sadly missed by her family and many, many friends.

Mrs. Kalis is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Father Tim Nelson will be the celebrant.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 PM.
