Bayler (Grimmer), June Francis

Left this world the evening of Wednesday, December 30, 2020 and no longer has to contend with the "craziest year she had ever seen in her 98 years". She made her way safely to our one true home - thank you Jesus. June was the Matriarch of the closely combined Grimmer/Bayler family and the last to leave us on our earthly journey from that greatest of generations. She entered this world on June 19, 1922 in Chicago. The oldest child of Arthur Hill Grimmer, Sr. and Eliese Willimina (Peil) Grimmer. She is survived by three daughters: Janis (Mickey)Kiss, Susan (Tim) Powers and Marilyn Gamel. Survived also by family and friends too numerous to name, including several nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Andy), daughters (Andrea and Val), sister (Audrey), niece (Karen). June graduated high school and completed two years of undergraduate study. June was smart, spunky, lots of fun and she "loved, loved, loved her life". She married her high school sweetheart, Andrew Johnston Bayler, Jr. in the midst of the second world war. Their union inspired June's sister, Audrey and Andy's only sibling, Donald to soon join together in matrimony. The eight double cousins have remained close all throughout their lives and actually celebrated June's 90th Birthday together at a big party in Ron Jon's Resort at Canaveral Beach. June worked professionally as an escrow clerk and title examiner, but her most important work on earth was her marriage and her family. She volunteered at a variety of organizations and served as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. The older she got, the more she pursued and continued to develop her relationship with our Lord and Savior. Part of this growth included choosing to be initiated into the Catholic Church in early 2020. Again she demonstrated one is never too old to learn, develop and take a leap of faith! Come Holy Spirit Come. Send down the fire of your love to set our hearts ablaze.

In these difficult times our family has decided to have a small (25 people max) service at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM for the immediate family only with Father Jim Shaver and Pastor Jim Hegedus presiding, and it will be live streamed on the Church's Facebook page.

There will be an open to the public Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM preceded by her family receiving friends at the church from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM.

After the Mass, her sacred remains will be taken to Fort Custer Cemetery (by the family) to be with her beloved spouse. The entire family gives a huge loving thanks beyond all measure to the entire staff of Jackson County Medical Care Facility. In lieu of flowers, June would love donations to be made to Jackson Right to Life or the Jackson Interfaith Shelter (or the local charity of your choice). There will be more information coming out before June of 2021.
