Of Jackson passed away at 2:30 AM on Friday, June 17, 2016. She was 89 years old. Juliet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Phillip O'Connell, son Timothy, grandson Colin, mother Pharailde (Thorrez) Maes, father Victor Maes, and sister Margaret (Phil) O'Neil. Juliet is survived by her sister Madeline (Dick) Haynes; six of her children Dennis (Barb) O'Connell of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Margaret (Charley) Eisele of Omaha, Nebraska, Kevin (Deb) O'Connell of East Helena, Montana, Jo (Chris) Dembowski of Williamston, Mark (Janet) O'Connell of Marshall, and Phillip (Winkie) O'Connell of Coloma; her fourteen grandchildren Cori (David) Zazworksy, Kellie (Chris) Casavale, Marc (Cheryl) Eisele, Nicole (Kevin) Buckner, Kimberly (Johnathan) Hilmer, Jennifer O'Connell, Amy (Chris) Burgess, Kara, Cullen and Kayle Dembowski, Ryan (Amanda) O'Connell, Brendon (Shepard) O'Connell, Phillip O'Connell Jr., and Erin (Jeremiah) McNally; and her eleven great grandchildren Emma and Charlie Zazworsky, Declan and Ellison Casavale, Kaelynn, Elissa, and Liam Eisele, Alexis Buckner, and Sabrina, Bridget, and Violet Hilmer.

Juliet was a long-standing member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church where she served faithfully in the Women's Circle. She received an Associates Degree from Sienna Heights College and was a member of Alpha Delta Rho Sorority. In addition to being a homemaker and raising her children, Juliet worked as a secretary at Lumen Christi High School for ten years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, travel and knitting.

Mrs. O'Connell is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. John Whitlock officiating. Interment to follow St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, June 20 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
