Eicher (Cummings), Julie Ann

Age 60, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Julie was born on August 30, 1960 in Jackson, MI to Leo and Kathy Cummings. She was raised on Waterloo Street and attended St. Joes and then graduated in 1978 from Lumen Christi. She touched the lives of countless patients and families during her 41 year career as a registered nurse at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.

Julie was the best mom, wife, sister, daughter, niece, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was selfless and did everything for others. She loved living on Vandercook Lake, where she could be seen relaxing on her deck and pontoon boat. She also loved traveling to casinos to play slot machines, going out for dinner and buying gifts for others. She loved her granddaughters so much and taught them how to hula hoop as good as her.

Julie is survived by her husband, Randy Eicher; father, Leo Cummings; sons, Tony (Sam) Todaro and Mike (Lauren) Todaro; granddaughters, Rosie and Lucy Todaro; sisters, Susan (Dave) Crowley and Janet Gibbons; nieces, Beth Crowley and Angie (Jeff) Todd; grandniece, Katie Gibbons; uncle, John Adkins; in-laws, Ray and Geri Eicher; step daughter, Nichelle (Minh) Tran; step granddaughters, Tristynn and Harleigh Tran; and lifelong best friends, Sheila Mitchell, Liz (David) Drechnowicz and Diane Rappleye.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stevie Todaro; mother, Kathy Cummings; and brother-in-law, Alan Gibbons. Julie believed in the power of Jesus and God's undying love and forgiveness. Her family thanks everyone who was a part of her life and made her feel loved.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Chas Canoy officiating. The Mass will be live streamed on St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church's Facebook page. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the current capacity at the Church is 96 persons. Masks and social distancing are required.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Julie requests that you please treat yourself to a fancy dinner or drink in her memory or make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in loving memory of Stevie Todaro.

Julie would want you to love one another and her death has bonded us tightly together. We pray that we all, each of you bond more closely with each other and take time to express and talk about the love we have for the other. What a beautiful world we would have if love was spoken each day.
