Juliann Spitzley Robertson of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024 at the age of 93. She is survived by her 5 loving children: Tom (Dee) Robertson, Don (Patty) Robertson, Patricia (Jack Durbrow) Robertson, Mary Robertson Deck (Randy Deck), and Lori Robertson Manning (Tom Manning); 15 adoring grandchildren: Damon (Amanda) Robertson, Evan (Bianca) Robertson, Krista (Francisco Ruiz) Robertson-Ruiz, Amanda Robertson Frank (special friend Aaron Hargrave ), Erin Robertson Smith, Laura "Margie" Robertson, Matthew Robertson, Daniel (Lindsay Laubenstein) Berger, Ruth (Sean) Sullivan, Miriam (Aaron) Palmer, Julie (Patrick) Horan, Mitchell Deck, and Alexander (Brittany) Deck, Kyle Manning and Andrew (Frances) Manning; and 19 Great-grandchildren. Also survived by 5 of her 10 siblings, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by 2 husbands: Donald Dewey Robertson and Kenneth Hickey, her parents, Michael and Rose Pung Spitzley, 5 of her 10 siblings, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Julie, as she was called by most, married Donald Dewey Robertson "Dewey" in 1952 and they lived and loved for 56 years before his death. She later married Ken Hickey until his death in 2016. She loved her family, playing cards, singing, and
laughing, always laughing!
The family expresses much gratitude to Trellis Gardens Memory Care staff and Careline Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Mom.
"Julie" has been cremated, with a Celebration of Life Mass to be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, MI on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Denis Spitzley presiding. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia will be held immediately after the Mass, with a luncheon to follow in the Parish Hall.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the Divine Word Mission.
