Juanita Lorraine Shaw (Wilson, Hursh)

Of Jackson, passed away on December 14th, 2024 at the age of 92. She is survived by her eight children (in order of birth) Gail Kogle, Raymond Hursh (Lek), Anne Tripp, Richard Hursh, Rodger Hursh, Rodney Hursh (Sandy), Aubrey Hursh (Mary), Guy Hursh (Rebecca); three stepdaughters Susan, Julie, and Christine; brothers, Kirk Wilson and John Wilson; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude (Euper) Wilson; her siblings, Frank Wilson Jr, Larry Wilson, Kay Faust, Arleah Wilkins Faust; and her husbands, Aubrey Laverne Hursh and Randall Dee Shaw.

Juanita was born at home in Flint, Michigan on September 5th, 1932. She attended school in Mt Morris. She married her first husband Aubrey Laverne Hursh on September 17th,1949. Tragically Aubrey died as a result of a car pedestrian accident on November 13, 1963. When her youngest son entered school, Juanita enrolled in nursing school and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). After working at several skilled nursing facilities, she applied to and was hired as an industrial nurse at a machine shop, earning the respect and trust of the operators working there.

Juanita was a beloved mother, grandmother. great grandmother, and great, great grandmother. She was involved in her church, loved antique shopping including collectible teacups. Her cinnamon rolls melted in your mouth and her fudge had no equal.

Juanita married her second husband Randall Shaw on December 22nd, 1972, welcoming his three daughters as her own.

Juanita's smile could light up a room. It was genuine, given freely, and infectious. Her kind demeanor and warm personality drew people near to her. She will be dearly missed.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Thome PACE, who did everything in the best interests of our beloved mother. We also wish to thank the wonderful staff at Brightside Assisted Living for their attentive care. The PACE hospice team was with mom at every phase of her journey at the end of her life and we are thankful for their support. And lastly, we wish to acknowledge Desnoyer Funeral Home for making this difficult time much easier for the family to get through.

A celebration of Juanita's life will be held at North End Baptist Church, 7360 Clio Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Darren Pettifor officiating.  Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 North Dort Highway, Mt. Morris.
