age 98, of Jackson, achieved eternal peace at Allegiance Hospital on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012. Juan was born into poverty in Mexico. His upbringing turned him into a hard working man and it was often said that he did the work of two men. He was honest to a fault and lying was foreign to him. He mastered many skills among which brick laying, carpentry, house construction and cooking served him well in life. He worked at the Regent Café as a cook and retired as a chef from the old Holiday Inn in Jackson. His life long dream was to be a musician and his presence was often noticed by the sound of singing.

Juan married and divorced twice. His first wife Elvira preceded hin in death. Surviving children are: Gilbert (Linda) Santos, Irma de los Santos, Lauren (Ron) Gollakner, Nora Luna, John M. (Marge) de los Santos, Rosemary (Bryan) Bowman, Eleazar de los Santos all from Jackson and Delia Tallon from Bozeman, Montana; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. By his second wife Marcela surviving children are Sonia (Mike) Lantis, Jose de los Santos, Frances Adams and Alfred (Tina) de los Santos all from Jackson and 7 grandchildren. Surviving siblings are brother Eliud de los Santos, and sisters Evelia and Emma de los Santos all from Mexico.

The family will receive friends and family at the Desnoyer Funeral Home starting at 10:30 AM on Thursday, Sept. 13 with Pastor Toby Teague officiating. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Interment at St. John's Cemetery following the service. A luncheon to celebrate the life of Juan de los Santos will be held at St. John's Parish Center, 711 N. Francis St. Following the interment service.
