Mahon (Winn), Joy Ann
of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dave; one son, David (Misti) Mahon; one grandson, Miles; two brothers, Greg (Sandy) Winn and Steve Winn (Jan); sisters-in-law, Diane (Bob) Blakeney and Colleen (Douglas) Van Doren; brother-in-law, Brian Mahon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Parke and Betty Winn.
Joy retired from Jackson Public Schools after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Tuesday Club. Joy was a very active member at Queen's Parish serving as lector, Eucharistic Minister, and was involved with Walking With Purpose Group. She was a good artist, enjoyed working with her art group, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Miles.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery and a luncheon thereafter. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church's Facebook Page.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 7 at the Desnoyer Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen's Church on Friday from 11:00 to 11:30 AM.
Contributions to the Cascades Humane Society or to the Queen's Conference of St. Vincent dePaul would be appreciated.
