It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Journee Elizabeth Padgett and her beautiful daughter Alanee Grace Payne. Journee was born on January 30, 2005, in South Bend, IN to Shawn Padgett and Jeanne Olivier. Alanee was born on June 22, 2024 in Jackson, MI to Anthony Payne and Journee Padgett. Journee and Alanee's lives were tragically cut short on October 15, 2024. A beloved daughter, sister and mother, Journee and Alanee's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who were fortunate to know and love them.
Journee will be lovingly remembered by her parents Jeanne (Kenneth) Olivier of Jackson, MI, Shawn (Bethany) Padgett of Lexington, KY; her sisters Ashlee, Shawnee, Kenya, Aaliyah and Kyree of Jackson, MI; and brothers Amaree and Kenneth Jr. of Jackson, MI and Ethan of Lexington, KY; and grandparents Lee (Pamela Goodwine) Padgett of Lexington, KY; and Anthony Payne, father of Alanee Grace of Monroe, MI. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Beulah Stallings and Linda Hitt. Her most cherished role, however, was as mother to her daughter, Alanee Grace. Journee's love for her daughter was profound and she strived to create a beautiful and loving home for her. Alanee was healthy, happy and loved immensely.
Journee's exuberant personality is described by those around her as loving, caring, bubbly, and beautiful. She was a lover of life and brought so much joy to everyone's life she entered. She was an outstanding cook, a hardworking homemaker, and devoted follower of God.
Her professional dedication was equally remarkable. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Journee provided care and comfort to many in their last days. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was her daughter, Alanee, who was the center of her universe. Journee was an example of strength and courage, facing life's challenges head-on with quiet bravery.
Journee's legacy is one of kindness and generosity. She believed in loving her family fiercely and demonstrated this throughout her life. Her favorite moments were those spent at home surrounded by loved ones. The warmth and joy that filled Journee's gatherings are memories her family will treasure forever.
Journee and Alanee's lives, albeit short, were rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures. Their spirits remain alive in the love Journee poured into her family and the kindness she showed to the world. They will be deeply missed by all who knew them.
Please join us in honoring the life of Journee Elizabeth and Alanee Grace on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 at 11AM at Calvary Apostolic Church on 260 W. Prospect St., Jackson, MI 49203.
