Joshua Lee “Yoshi” “Jobahu” Renfer

Joshua Lee “Yoshi” “Jobahu” Renfer, 35, died on August 31, 2026, in Jackson, Michigan. Born on May 3, 1991, in Jackson, he spent his life connected to the place where he was born and to the people who knew him there.

Josh was known as an avid gamer and a dedicated Magic the Gathering card player. He enjoyed traveling, nature walks, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved animals. These interests and pastimes were an important part of his life and reflected the ways he chose to spend his time with those around him.

He enjoyed growing up with his brother Kyle and his cousins. They enjoyed many years of adventures, family gatherings, holidays etc. including fishing, trick-r-treating, birthday celebrations.

Josh very much enjoyed playing video games and his spending time with his closest friends.

Josh was forward thinking and insightful especially when he thought of others.

God has received and healed Joshua's soul and eternal heart.

He is remembered by his parents and guardians, Janet (Jason) Carrier, Scott (Teresa) Renfer, John Judkins, and Andrew (Teresa) Galbreath; his grandparent, Kathy Kresky; his siblings, Kyle Renfer, Hayden Galbreath, and Keith, Lauren, and Nicklaus Judkins; step-sister, Alara Crippen; his aunt, Anna Moose; his uncles, Ben (Nicole) Moose and Todd (Kristy) Renfer; his aunt, Linda (Dan) Manners; and his cousins, Matthew, Jesse, Brittany, Rien, Sadie, Steven, Shea-Leigh, Rachel and Joe Fisher, Jeremy and Ashely McCafferty, and Jacob Hitt. Joshua was also remembered by many close friends.

He was preceded in death by Mike and Bethany (Sue) Renfer, his paternal grandparents; Damian Renfer, his uncle; and Marcel Mehu, his best friend.

Joshua Lee "Yoshi" Renfer will be remembered by family, friends, and all who shared in his life. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at American Legion Post #29 3200 Lansing Avenue in Jackson.
