Ms. Josephine Ura went to be with the Lord the evening of July 14, 2014. She was a life-long parishioner at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel. Having worked as head bookkeeper for Heat Controller for almost 40 years, Ms. Ura retired in 1989. Finding sweet joy in gardening, she had an expansive yard with many bright and beautiful flowers. A dream come true for her was traveling to Poland to see her parents' birthplace, meet family she had corresponded with for decades and to view the shrine of the Black Madonna at the Jasna Gora Monastery. Ms. Ura brought great love and joy to her family, and was much loved by them.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jozef and Rozalia (Deren) Ura, her brother and sister-in-law Edward and Vi (Mannor) Ura, her nephew Frank Laux and her great nephew Eddie Ash. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Ura) and Ralph Laux (Bryant, IN). Ms. Ura is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Teresa Laux (Indianapolis, IN); Chris and Michelle Laux (Notre Dame, IN); Toni Laux (Celestine, IN); Daria Laux-Walpole and Mike Walpole (Indianapolis, IN); Maureen (Laux) and Mark Baker (Roswell, GA); Terry Laux (Indianapolis, IN); Giles and Barbie Laux (Portland, IN); Amy Laux (Indianapolis, IN); Niki (Laux) and Jon Sholly (Indianapolis, IN); and Rose (Ura) and Roland Youse (Jackson, MI). As well as several great nieces and nephews: Jessica (Laux) and Stephen Donlon (Bethesda, MD), daughter Cora; Cole Laux (Chicago, IL); Caleb Laux (Manhattan, NY); Cassidy Laux (Notre Dame, IN); Michelle Laux (Valporaiso, IN); Ralph Laux II (Notre Dame, IN); Abby Laux and Kerry Lueken (Celestine, IN); Ruby (Laux) and Tim Jacobs (Avon, IN), sons Bram and Zeke; Maddy Laux (Celestine, IN); Emma Laux (Portland, IN); Lucy Laux (Portland, IN); Roland Youse, Jr. (Freeport, FL), daughters Gracie and Lexi; Sonya Youse (Owosso, MI), sons Michael and William; Tiffany Ura (Jackson, MI), son Ethan; Becky Youse (Jackson, MI), daughter Zoey; and Heather Youse (Jackson, MI).

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home (204 N. Blackstone St., Jackson, MI) from 4 – 7 PM on Thursday, July 17th with the Rosary being prayed at 5:00 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 18th at 1:00 PM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel (608 S. Elm Ave., Jackson MI). Father Tim Nelson will be the celebrant at the Mass. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
