McAvoy, Josephine O.

of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett McAvoy. She is survived by immediate family; daughter, Carole (Joseph) Fitzgerald; grandson, Tim Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Cathy Fitzgerald all of Parma; great grandchildren, Jordon & Derek Fitzgerald; nephews, Lowell (Betty) Cook, Norman (Jo) Cook; step son, Michael (Bonita) McAvoy; step daughters, Kathleen McAvoy (deceased), Roberta Gebhardt, Alice Moulton (deceased); step grandchildren, Tim (Maureen) Hyden, Don Hyden, Sue (Michael) McCrellis, Cathy Haldane, Kim (Todd) Geiger, Terry Moulton, Joyce Murphy, Debra Moulton; several step great grandchildren, Lucas & Bridget Hyden, Bonnie Hyden, Amy McCrellis, Heather Tallis, Robert, Jamie, Shawn Haldane; grand niece & nephew, Christine Larson, Brian Cook; Goddaughter, Kimberly Rogers, special friends, Dorothy Bringle, Mary White, Wilma Smoyer. Josephine was a member of the Ganson Street Baptist Church, Ganson Street Baptist Church Builders Class, Woodville Garden Club, Woodville Women's League, American Business Association and the Jr. Dorcas. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, gardening, writing poetry and fishing. Josephine is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan. Reverend James Shaver will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday from 1–3 and 5–7 PM.
