of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary C. Reska (O'Dowd); four sons, Douglas (Marianne) Reska, Gary (Dawn) Reska, Todd Reska, Joseph Reska Jr.; his favorite daughter, Mary Jo (Gary) Stratman; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (John-deceased) Onken, Patricia Burch (twin sister), Terry (Art-deceased) Smith; special niece, Barbara Reska; several nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law and many close friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Irene (Charlie) Miller; two brothers, Edward (Ruth) Reska and Raymond (Rosemary) Reska. Joseph proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a ceramic tile setter for Maddalenas for 43 years. He was a life member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers. He volunteered at the Jackson County Habitat for Humanity for the past 8 years and was an active member of St. Mary Parish for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, puzzles and, especially, family times. According to his wishes, Joseph has been cremated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 22, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 9:30 AM with Father Cecilio Reyna being the celebrant.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM with a parish and Amaranth Rosary at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name may be made to Jackson County Habitat for Humanity or the American Red Cross.
