age 77, born on May 10, 1939 and died on Sunday, April 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria Elena; three children, Jose (Sherry) Baltodano, Maria (Joe) Berkemeier, and Julio Baltodano; grandchildren, Anthony (Katie), Alicia, Elena (Joel) Arends, Joseph (Veronica), John Paul, Anna, Justin, and Emma; great grandson, Marco; two brothers, Marcio (Maria Eugenia) and Duilio (Sylvia); two sisters, Alicia (Ivan) Morales and Rosita; numerous nieces and nephews. Jose was under the care of the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home and special nurse, Linda Lefebrre.
Jose was born in Leon, Nicaragua where he practiced law, was a professor, founded a school, San Ramon, and worked for Cukra Development Company. He migrated to the United States in 1983 and attended MSU (tax school) and Western Michigan University (public administrator program). Jose worked for F.E.B. Enterprises Corporation, Commercial Exchange.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Nelson as the celebrant.
The family will receive friends at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church or St. Mary Stain Glass Window Project would be appreciated.
