ABELLA, JOSE M. —
Of Jackson passed away at home Sunday, February 21, 2010 age 94 years. Preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Estrella Abella; and great-grandson, Noah. Survived by two daughters, Rebeca (Albert) Ruff of Jackson and Estrella (Thomas) Simpson of Cincinnati, OH; four grandsons, Charles (Beverly) Simpson, Michael (Julie) Potter, Stephen (Sheri) Simpson, and Christian (Heather) Simpson; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Dr. Jerry Booth DDS and Dr. Orson Cardon DMD; and many other special friends. Jose enjoyed working at the former Mercy Hospital and most recently at the Jackson Professional Building. Mr. Abella is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery. The Reverend Cecilio Reyna officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Vincent dePaul Society would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service 7 p.m.
