VanAken, John C. Sr.
of Pleasant Lake, passed away at his home under the loving care of his granddaughter, Tracy, and Great Lakes Hospice, on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by three children, John C. (Lydia) VanAken Jr., Penny (Bruce) DeWaters, Chris (Peggy) VanAken; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one sister, Virginia Fitch; several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie VanAken; one brother, Victor VanAken; one sister, Betty White. According to his wishes, John has been cremated.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home, to share good times and fond memories, on Monday, January 31, from 2 to 5 PM.
