ROBE, JOHN W. "TRAPPER JOHN"
Of Jackson passed away quietly in the care of his loving family on Friday, March 15, 2013 age 80 years. Survived by his son John L. Robe (Marcia), two daughters Jill (Jim) Gaus and Robyn Robe-Foote (Kurt). Four grandchildren; John B. Robe, Adam C. Robe, Richard (Kim) Foote and Jennifer Foote (Bryan). Two great-granddaughters Vivian and Izabella. One sister Margaret (Earl) Crowley, sisters in law Ellen Robe and Jean Brown, several nieces, nephews and many special friends including Ruth. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly and two brothers, Ronald and Terry Robe. John was a Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, retired as Captain from the State Prison of Southern Michigan. He loved to hunt, fish, trap and camp. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends and also loved riding his "Trike". He enjoyed friends that he gained though conversations, stories and laughter.
Mr. Robe is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Father Robert Pienta and Father Ken McKenna, O.S.F.S. officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM.
