Lavan, John "Jack"

age 55 of Jackson passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 peacefully under the loving care of his family and the Allegiance Hospice Home. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherri; one daughter, Lindsay Lavan; two step daughters, Kathryn Kemp and Kristen Kemp; adorable pet, Vinnie Verine; siblings, Daniel (Kathleen) Lavan, Gerard (Kathie) Lavan, Leo (Tammy) Lavan, Michael (Julie) Haire, Donna (Christopher) Dobie, Mark (Adella) Terry, Kelly (Michael) McCann, and Tammy (Adam) Brown; mother-in-law, Mary Zawacki; and sister-in-law, Catherine Zawacki. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Aileen Terry; one sister, Mary Sauber; and father-in-law, Stanley Zawacki.

Jack loved playing the drums, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. He was a kind hearted man who did not complain about his health but to the very end lived a selfless life.

Jack is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pienta officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM.
